1 to 2 Whole Ginger Roots
Water
Ice cube trays, a decent blender, a large clean bowl, 2 clean FOOD ONLY paint strainer bag
Wash ginger root with a little dish soap, then rinse really well. Pop ENTIRE root into blender and cover with filtered water. Pulse until well chopped, then crank on high a couple minutes until completely pulverized.
Line the stretchy part of the bag over a large bowl, I like to use my 2 quart Pyrex measuring bowl, then put the second bag inside the first bag and stretch over the bowl. Pour the ginger juice mixture into the bag. Add a little more filtered water to the blender jar and shake a few seconds to get all the pulp out. Pour the mixture into the bag again, then set aside.
Life the bags up from the edges of the bowl and twist upward, sealing off the pulp inside. Squeeze the juice from the pulp into the bowl. Once mostly dry, discard the pulp and rinse strainer bags VERY WELL with warm water. Alternate flipping the bags inside out and rinse to get all the pulp residue out. Once clean, set aside to dry.
Pour strained ginger juice into ice cube trays and freeze. Once solid, pop cubes into a Ziploc bag for future use!
